\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\tWhen Otniel couldn\u2019t find timely medical care elsewhere, Mission of Mercy became his lifeline. Facing a serious heart condition, he told the staff, \u201cI don\u2019t think I have two months to live if I don\u2019t get help right now.\u201d<\/em><\/p> Within days, Mission of Mercy worked him into the schedule. Dr. Cleaves recognized that something was seriously wrong and urged the hospital to admit him immediately. Soon after, Salas underwent life-saving open-heart surgery.<\/p> Since then, Mission of Mercy has continued to provide follow-up care, wound treatment, and ongoing support. Salas says the compassion of the volunteer providers has made all the difference.<\/p> \u201cI\u2019m alive because Mission of Mercy is here,\u201d<\/em> he said. \u201cEverybody here really cares for the patients.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t Nicole and her family recently came to Mission of Mercy for eye exams\u2014something they had long gone without due to lack of insurance.<\/p> \u201cFinding somewhere to go when you don\u2019t have insurance is a challenge,<\/em>\u201d Nicole shared. \u201cWe don\u2019t have the funds to pay for eye exams out of pocket. It\u2019s been a struggle.<\/em>\u201d<\/p> Thanks to the support of our generous donors, Nicole and her loved ones received comprehensive care at no cost. \u201cThe doctors are really nice, especially to the kids,<\/em>\u201d she said. \u201cI really appreciate the people who donate to Mission of Mercy so that families like ours have somewhere to go. It helps people get the help they need. Thank you and bless you!<\/em>\u201d<\/p> At Mission of Mercy, stories like Nicole\u2019s remind us why we do what we do\u2014and why your support matters. Because of you, families without insurance don\u2019t have to go without care.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t Joe heard about Mission of Mercy from a family member\u2014and from the moment he walked through the doors, he knew it was different. \u201cIt has a homey feel,\u201d<\/em> he says. \u201cThe staff are great. They give you good information, and it just feels real good being here.\u201d<\/em><\/p> Having access to free healthcare has made a big difference for Joe, especially with a family history of diabetes. Regular checkups, blood work, and the chance to speak with a doctor have helped him stay ahead of his health. \u201cIt\u2019s really helped me keep things on track,\u201d<\/em> he shares.<\/p> Joe has tried other clinics in town, but none made him feel as heard and valued as Mission of Mercy. \u201cThe doctors here are so helpful and caring,\u201d<\/em> he says. \u201cEveryone is welcoming. I\u2019m happy to have a place where I can go, keep track of my health, and learn what I need to prepare for the future.\u201d<\/em><\/p> To our supporters, Joe says:\u00a0\u201cChronic and hereditary diseases can be hard, especially without healthcare. I\u2019m thankful, and I appreciate everyone who helps Mission of Mercy do what they do. I\u2019m happy Mission of Mercy is here. Thank you for trying to help so many people.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t Dalia first heard about Mission of Mercy through a commercial in 2008. At the time, she was living with high blood pressure and diabetes and had no health insurance. She needed help\u2014and Mission of Mercy was there.<\/p> \u201cI have been coming to Mission of Mercy since 2008. I had high blood pressure and diabetes and needed help. I have no insurance. The staff are great and the doctors are even better. They have helped me with labs and medication.\u201d<\/em><\/p> Over the years, Dalia has continued to return to Mission of Mercy\u2014not just for the medical support, but because of the kindness and compassion she receives each time.<\/p> \u201cI keep coming back because they treat me kindly and help with my health. As I\u2019ve gotten older, I see how important that is. Without Mission of Mercy, I wouldn\u2019t be here\u2014my blood pressure was dangerously high, but with medication, I\u2019m doing much better.\u201d<\/em><\/p> Her gratitude is deep and sincere.<\/p> \u201cThank you to everyone, and please keep donating if you can. So many don\u2019t have insurance and don\u2019t know you are here to help them. With the compassion and care, I feel that this clinic helped me a lot, and it will help others. Their services are wonderful and everyone is real nice. Without them, I would have been dead by now.\u201d<\/em><\/p> \u00a0“As Executive Director, I have had the privilege of getting to know Dalia, who also receives care through our free dental clinic. I invited her to share her story as a guest speaker at a Dental Clinic Donor Presentation. During her remarks\u2014without any prompting\u2014she expressed a heartfelt hope that Mission of Mercy might one day offer free dentures. Inspired by her words, we immediately reached out to a local dentist, who now generously provides one free partial or full set of dentures to two patients each month.”\u00a0 Sherry Bowers, ACFRE, CFRE – Executive Director<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t Sandra has been coming to Mission of Mercy since 2018 when we opened the new building. She first heard about Mission of Mercy from a doctor at CHRISTUS Spohn who sent her over here. \u201cIt\u2019s been amazing here. The medical team listens and really takes care me. It shows me that they really care.\u201d<\/em><\/p> Sandra says, \u201cNurse Practitioner Reyes listens to me and sent me to get the things done that I needed. “Having the labs and doctor visits free has been a lifesaver. I am grateful to organizations like Mission of Mercy who help people with no insurance.\u201d <\/em><\/p> The care Sandra has received here has made a deep impact on her life.\u00a0 \u201cI would not have been able to afford the labs or exams. I would like to say thank you to the donors for their support. It helps a lot financially not to have to go into massive debt because I have medical issues. I hope that they continue to help Mission of Mercy so that they can continue to help people like me and others in need.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t Freddie has been a patient for the last 7 years. He came to Mission of Mercy to help manage potential blood pressure and diabetes issues.\u00a0\u201cIt made me feel good to know I have somewhere to go. I enjoy seeing the doctor and getting to know everyone.\u201d<\/i> Freddie says that the medication and education have helped him maintain his health for the long haul. \u201cSince coming to Mission of Mercy my blood pressure and my sugars have been good. The education helps me stay healthy and they do a wonderful job here for people who have no insurance.\u00a0<\/em><\/p> \u00a0I really appreciate everyone who helps Mission of Mercy do what they do.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t “Thank you for taking the time to allow me to work with you and for inviting me to Mission of Mercy. This organization is one of a kind and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work here and to serve our community.”<\/span><\/em> Sandra has been coming to Mission of Mercy since 2018. Sandra knew that she was diabetic and had heard about Mission of Mercy on the radio.<\/p> Sandra has attended the Diabetes Education classes where she has learned what she can and cannot eat. She also receives her diabetic medication through the Medication Assistance Program.<\/p> \u201cThe diabetic classes have helped me. They give you so much information and you learn what you should be eating and doing. It\u2019s up to each person to do their part to help themselves,\u201d says Sandra.<\/i><\/p> Sandra added, \u201cMission of Mercy is very important to the community because so many people do not have insurance because they can\u2019t afford it. The doctors here are very nice and want me to be successful in my diabetes journey. The nurses are great\u2026in fact EVERYONE here is wonderful\u2026and I\u2019m not just saying that. It\u2019s TRUE! They listen to me, are compassionate and they care about me. I really encourage the community to support Mission of Mercy if they can.
