Healthy Cooking

Mission of Mercy collaborates with other organizations such as Coastal Bend Food Bank and Texas A&M Extension Services Family & Community to provide hands-on healthy cooking classes. Patients get a chance to learn about healthy food choices, try tasty recipes and learn about healthier choices when at the grocery store and eating out.

Diabetes Education and Management

Diabetes Self-Management Education Classes are important to the overall health of someone living with diabetes. Health educators teach what diabetes is, how to monitor blood glucose, proper nutrition, exercise, medications, goal setting and stress management. Classes are taught in English and Spanish.

Faith and Finance

Patient’s learn principles about money in this highly interactive course, as students are equipped to conquer the “battle of the budget.” Classes are open to individuals, families, and youth.

In this class you will discover how to:

  • Make a spending plan that works
  • Manage debt & loans
  • Set savings goals and prepare for the future
  • Overcome past mistakes

Patients are provided the opportunity and tools to achieve their full potential as they become more confident in their ability to succeed at work, become leaders, and positively influence their work environments.
