Thanks to Mission of Mercy’s partnership with the Maryland Food Bank, we will again begin distributing food to our patients on Monday, March 21, at the Frederick Clinic at Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Ave.
Last year, we distributed 46,000 pounds of fresh produce as well as packaged foods to more than 1,500 patients and their families.
A special thanks to Jeremy Poling, founder of the Real Estate Connection, who recruited many of those volunteers! They braved bone-chilling temperatures and the sultry summer heat to sort and distribute food supplies the last clinic day of each month in Frederick.
In 2016, the Maryland Food Bank is asking us to cover the $300 cost of gas for each monthly drop – that’s a yearly total of @2,700. We have received a generous $500 contribution, but your help is still needed. Please consider making a personal contribution, or rally your church or organization to raise funds to help with one month’s food drop.
Then, join in helping to sort and distribute the food, and take an inspiring tour of our mobile clinic. Donate online here. or call 301-682-5683.
