Gianna Talone-Sullivan is a woman of faith and was a practicing pharmacist when, in 1991, she had a vision – something she believed to be a Divine calling to help the sick and the poor. With a passion to serve, her education and ability as a pharmacist, her connection to other medical professionals, and an unwavering drive to make her vision a reality, Mission of Mercy was born.

In 1994, Mission of Mercy was officially launched as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (EIN 86-0704883), faith informed in our values and service delivery, and dedicated to bring healing and wholeness to individuals in need through the practice of medicine. Our mission was born – “to restore dignity and ‘healing through Love” by providing free healthcare.”

In 1994, MOM’s very first mobile medical clinics were created to serve the rural areas of Pennsylvania and Maryland. This was followed in 1997 with Mission of Mercy in Arizona serving urban areas throughout the greater Phoenix Valley, and in 2007 by Mission of Mercy Texas, serving the Coastal Bend area. Mission of Mercy provides a high-quality medical home for underserved individuals in the areas in which we operate, meeting their primary care needs, and helping them manage chronic illnesses.

At Mission of Mercy, all are welcome, and all are served. Our primary medical, dental and vision services are provided completely free for individuals who do not have other care options available to them. In alliance with our mission, we believe the restoration of personal dignity is paramount to the MOM medical experience. Thus, we will never require our patients to prove their poverty to receive the care they need.

Mission of Mercy medical clinics are over 90% volunteer run. We call on the experience of active and retired licensed healthcare professionals, from all different walks of life, who volunteer their time to provide free medical, dental, vision and prescription medication services to the most medically underserved people in Arizona, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Texas.
Mission of Mercy is funded predominately through private and corporate foundation grants, strategic partnerships with hospitals and others in the medical profession, and individual donations. We do not accept state or federal funding of any kind.
Since our founding, Mission of Mercy has provided healing through Love and compassionate medical services to 112,503 individuals and provided 605,053 medical visits.
