What We Have Accomplished

FISCAL YEAR 2013 HIGHLIGHTS:

■ Provided 15,453 individual patient visits and dispensed 21,275 prescriptions at six mobile clinics throughout Maricopa County

■  Opened a sixth clinic at the Murphy School District Education and Health Center, bringing primary health care to one of the most underserved communities in South Central Phoenix, thanks to grant funding from the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation, BHHS Legacy Foundation, Rotary International Charities and Thunderbirds Charities

■  Inaugural recipient of the Piper Trust’s Encore Enhancement Prize that recognizes a nonprofit’s volunteer program for excellence in engaging people over age 50 in roles that combine personal meaning with social impact

■  Collaborated with pro-bono medical partners, including hospitals, medical  specialists  and  Sonora  Quest  Laboratories  to  provide $275,000 in free ancillary specialty services to our patients

■  Through Community Connections, our Community Health Educator reported 460 individual patient encounters in the Avondale clinic, providing patient education on oral health, nutrition, flu prevention, high blood pressure and heart health, among others

■  Formalized a volunteer-led Sustainability Committee to serve as an extension of the Arizona program’s staff to support and promote community outreach and engagement

■ Expanded its Volunteer training and recruitment program and accumulated a record-setting 16,094 hours in pro-bono service from doctors, nurses and interpreters; a value of $704,586
