Welcome
to the Mission of Mercy Arizona home page! This fall, we celebrated our 11thth
anniversary of being "instruments of God's Love" by delivering mobile
medical care services to thousands of uninsured working poor and homeless
families throughout Maricopa County. Because of you, tens of thousands of
people, with hopes and dreams just like yours and mine, have been given the
gift of health and hope. Thank you!
We
also wish to acknowledge the vital role our growing numbers of Compassionate
Community Partners
play in supporting our patients on their road to restored health. We are
grateful to our good neighbors who continue to provide critical pro bono
services to keep our patients in the medical safety net until they can get back
on their feet and resume full lives.
In
keeping with our commitment of "bringing the doctor to the people", 2008 was a year of growth for
the Arizona program. On a hot
summer day in early July, we opened a new mobile medical clinic at St.
Catherine’s of Siena parish in a South Central Phoenix where we treat an
average of 50 patients every other Tuesday. But our work is not done. As part of our “Bridging the Gap” Service Expansion
Initiative, we are in the process of securing addition funding and identifying
a new community to serve in the Far West Valley during 2009. And, we also
celebrated a major milestone when we delivered our 100,000th patient visit this
summer.
As we
move into our second decade of service, one thing hasn’t changed….Mission of
Mercy continues to be a recognized as the model for innovative “front line” mobile health care services and a
medical home for those in need. We trust that you will be faithful in your financial support and
your prayers as we continue to offer ourselves as instruments of God's healing
to those entrusted to our care.
